Negative Scanning

There was something special about picking up photos from the one-hour developer. You’d tear open the envelope right there at the counter, flipping through each print, some perfect, some blurry, and at least one with an accidental thumb in the frame. Tucked inside that envelope with your prints? A thin plastic sleeve full of negatives. Usually ignored, occasionally held up to the light, but always stuffed in a drawer just in case.

Turns out, that “just in case” moment is now. Negatives hold more detail than prints ever could; sharper lines, richer colors, and deeper contrast. While prints fade over time, negatives quietly keep the good stuff intact. With high-resolution scanning and Digital ICE technology, we’ll clean up the scratches, remove the dust, and bring your images back to life in stunning detail.

No more squinting at tiny strips or worrying about losing them. Just beautifully restored images, ready to be shared, printed, and enjoyed for generations.

WHAT’S INCLUDED?

  • Scans at 2000dpi, 3000dpi or 4000dpi depending on your needs.

Think of it as med/high/extra high resolution—medium is best for those that want to save the most money but still get great scans, the highest is best for image manipulation/reproduction, and the high is a great middle ground.

  • All of your slides are blasted with compressed air to remove as much surface dust as possible before we scan them.

Once they’re scanned, our high tech scanners use a technology called Digital ICE to remove any of the tiny particles that have become embedded over the years.

  • If you have groups of images that you’ve named or photo albums that have labels, we’ll transfer those titles to the digital folders containing your scanned images, making it easy to find exactly what you’re looking for.

Got dates on your albums/groups? We’ll do our best to sort everything in chronological order for you.

  • A free 30-day, unlimited download and sharing link (up to 100GB in size)

All of our orders for digital files come with a free download and sharing link so you can share your memories with as many family members and friends as you like.

Need longer than 30 days? We can store your files indefinitely for just $5 a month.

  • Our image files are provided as high quality JPEG files as standard (the most compatible format), so you can take them anywhere and load them on any device.

  • We crop every scan down to the image area itself, ensuring a clean final photo file.

We also make sure that every image is rotated and oriented the correct way.

ADD-ON SERVICES

  • All our orders come with a free download and sharing link, but if you’d like to add a USB drive to your order, we can get the right size for the media you have.

Our prices start at $12 and we can let you know how large a drive you’ll need.

We can also put your files on a 100-year archival Data DVDs for $15 per 4.5GB of files (or per disc if special organization required). A great option to store away in a safety deposit box for safekeeping.

  • 25¢ per scan

If you need the best possible quality from your scans, we can scan your slides as TIFF files, giving you the most digital information in your images.

  • 25¢ per image

We’ll adjust color balance, levels, brightness, contrasting, etc to bring life back to faded images.

  • $49 per 1000 slides

Want to show off your newly digital images as a slideshow? Our most basic slideshow shows each image for 5 seconds and fades into the next.

Perfect for putting on loop on your TV at family gatherings.

If you’d like to go all out and add music, titles and more, head over to our Slideshows page for more details.

  • We often see slides that have some color balancing needs or might need some extra TLC.

Our work starts at $50 per 30 mins of technician time (most jobs can be completed in this time). But since every restoration job is different, we’ll give you an estimate before we start and keep in contact with you if we feel like it could use more attention.

Head over to our Photo Restoration page for more information.
